What to Expect
With each permanent cosmetic procedure, you should expect to book a Consultation, First Session, and Touch-Up Session. All are included in the total price of the service. Occasionally, an additional procedure is required, and will be discussed fully at the time of your Consultation or Touch-Up session. When scheduling your initial consultation, you may book your First Session at the same time. The Consultation Fee of $40 will be credited toward the total cost of your procedure. When booking your procedure, a 50% deposit is required to hold the appointment with the balance due at the end of First Session. There is no additional charge for the Touch-Up Session. Each client receives undivided attention to get brow shaping and shading just right, with ample time reserved to ensure client satisfaction.
Note: Annual touch-ups do not require an in person consultation.
I ask that if you have to cancel your appointment, you do so with a minimum of 48 hours notice so that we can book another client into that time slot. Deposits will not be refunded on cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice.
I look forward to working with you! JoAnne Christman
The Consultation
At your Consultation, we’ll determine if you are a good candidate for Permanent Cosmetics. Please arrive 15 minutes early to relax, have a cup of decaffeinated tea or infused flavored water, and allow enough time to complete the necessary paper work. During the Consultation, we’ll discuss your medical history, medications, and beauty regimen that may or may not affect the retention of your pigment. If you have any of the contraindications listed in Requiring Physician Approval stated for each individual Permanent Cosmetic procedure, please contact your physician ahead of time and have them write a note on official letterhead or medical prescription pad stating it’s safe for you to have your permanent cosmetics procedure. Don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions. Please bring the physician’s note to First Session and DO NOT stop taking any medications unless directed by your doctor. Once we’ve discussed your medical history and answered all questions about safety and procedural details, we will spend some time looking at different before and after photos to help you decide which technique is best for you. You should plan on 30 minutes for your Consultation.
First Session
At the First Session, I will pre-numb you with a topical anesthetic if needed. After taking ‘before photos’, we’ll design your brow, lip, and/or eye liner to your approval, customize the pigment and begin the procedure. This usually takes 2-2 ½ hours, depending on the work involved. During the procedure, topical anesthetics will be use as needed. You will have the opportunity to view the process and provide input throughout. Upon procedure completion, ‘after photos’ are taken and after care is discussed. All aftercare products are included in the price, and you will have everything you need to care for your new permanent cosmetics when you leave the studio. Please keep in mind that the color will look darker immediately after the procedure, but will soften and lighten as it heals. This is a gradual process requiring appropriate aftercare and healing time, in addition to the Touch-Up Session, to achieve the best possible result.
Touch-Up Session
The Touch-Up Session is similar to the initial session, although it doesn’t take as long since the design and pigment selection has already been determined. This session is more of a perfecting session, and is recommended for longer lasting pigment retention and the optimal outcome. At this time, I’ll evaluate the healed results of the pigment with your skin undertones and enhance the shape and color if needed. This usually takes between 1 ½-2 hours, depending on the healed results of your First Session. During the procedure, topical anesthetics will be used as needed, and you’ll have the opportunity to view and provide input throughout the procedure. ‘After photos’ will be taken and after care discussed. All aftercare products are included, and you will have everything that you need when you leave the studio. This is a similar healing process as the First Session, and, again, the color will look darker than the final result.
I recommend that you book a consultation and visit the studio so we can determine if Permanent Cosmetics are right for you. Consultations can also be done over the phone.
Please call in advance of booking your appointment if you have any questions, including when physician approval may be required.
